What are the benefits for faculty using the discovery layer for Catalyst?

Modified on Mon, 25 Nov at 11:38 AM

Each institution has a unique Sage Catalyst discovery layer that you will only be able to access by authenticating as a member of your institution. By using the discovery layer, faculty can get a more unique and tailored experience of their collection. Here, they can access all their titles and add titles to the Talis Elevate app, which will allow them to use all the Talis Elevate functionalities. This way, faculty can:

  • Embed chapters directly in their Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) or Learning Management System (LMS) and view analytics at course, resource, and student level. This gives valuable insight into student engagement, while providing equitable access to core texts.
  • Gain confidence that all students can seamlessly access core texts and reading lists.
  • Increase student engagement through collaboration directly within the texts.
  • Enable social learning with virtual classroom discussions.
  • Shape course design and delivery using insights into student engagement.
  • Focus attention on the most relevant chapters, so students come to class prepared.
  • Encourage wider reading and create a more enjoyable student experience with direct links to curated lists of content.
